Hi, I'm Carlene
I’m a passionate wellness practitioner with over 13 years of experience, and I’m here to help you find the root cause of your pain and discomfort. My approach is all about healing from the inside out, and I love working with people to create lasting relief and balance through Myofascial Release therapy and other specialized techniques.
My Story
I’m a true Red Deerian—born and raised here—and a proud mom of three boys. Outside of healing, I’m all about fitness and adventure. You’ll often find me dirt biking, wakeboarding, or exploring off-the-beaten-path places near sand and ocean. I’m a total health nerd, constantly diving into everything from anatomy to the science of healing at both the micro and macro levels. My journey into bodywork started with studying massage at the Alberta Institute of Massage, where I became a fully registered massage therapist (RMT). I’ve been trained in a variety of techniques, including relaxation, therapeutic, prenatal, and deep tissue massage. But I didn’t stop there—after I began helping people, I realized there was so much more to learn about how pain and dysfunction show up in the body. That’s when I pursued additional training in Reflexology, Rattan, Myofascial Cupping, and Spinal Flow—just to name a few. What drives me every day is the belief that pain and discomfort are often signs of something deeper, whether it’s physical, emotional, or even chemical. I’m deeply passionate about identifying the root causes of those issues, and helping my clients break out of the cycle of pain to reconnect with their bodies. For me, healing is a journey, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
Unique Treatments for Lasting Results
Myofascial Release & Bodywork Therapy
What Is Fascia & Bodywork Therapy?
Fascia therapy involves working with the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and bones. Carlene’s approach combines a variety of advanced techniques—such as Spinal Flow, Myofascial Release (MFR), and Myofascial Cupping Therapy—designed to release deep-seated tension, improve mobility, and bring the body back into balance.

Why It Matters
Many of us carry years of stored tension in our fascia—often due to stress, injury, or repetitive movements. Over time, this tension can disrupt the body’s natural flow, leading to pain, discomfort, and a lack of mobility. Fascia and bodywork therapy directly target the root causes of these issues, going beyond the typical approach to healing and offering a more holistic, long-lasting solution.
How Each Therapy Works
Myofascial Release (MFR)
MFR is a safe and highly effective hands-on technique that applies gentle, sustained pressure to the myofascial connective tissue. This process helps eliminate pain and restore movement by allowing fascia—a viscoelastic tissue—to gradually elongate. Why is this important? Trauma, inflammation, or surgery can create myofascial restrictions, generating up to 2,000 lbs of pressure per square inch on pain-sensitive structures. These restrictions don’t always appear on standard tests like X-rays, CAT scans, or electromyography. What are the benefits? Improves body mechanics and flexibility Enhances strength and posture Increases movement awareness MFR is performed directly on the skin without oils, creams, or tools, allowing for precise detection of fascial restrictions and the right amount of sustained pressure to facilitate release.
Spinal Flow
Spinal Flow is a gentle, non-invasive healing technique that works with the nervous system to release physical, emotional, and chemical blockages. It is based on the principle that the spine has seven key gateways, which act as the body's main energy and communication highway. How does it work? By identifying and clearing restrictions in the spine, Spinal Flow restores the natural flow of energy, supporting the body's ability to heal itself. Using precise and gentle touches, this technique facilitates profound healing by addressing the root cause of pain and dysfunction. Key benefits: Physical Pain Relief – Releases spinal tension, reducing inflammation and promoting natural healing. Emotional Well-Being – Helps clear nervous system tension patterns caused by chronic stress, anxiety, and depression, which can lead to fatigue, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, and immune dysfunction. This technique supports both physical and emotional balance, allowing the body to realign and function optimally.
Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial cupping is a therapeutic technique that uses negative pressure (suction) to lift the skin and underlying tissues. This reduces tension and adhesions in the fascia, promoting better mobility, hydration, and overall soft tissue health. How does it help? Encourages better range of motion Eliminates myofascial trigger points Reduces painful adhesions in fascia Enhances hydration and soft tissue function Helps prevent injuries and maintain mobility By altering pressure beneath the skin, myofascial cupping optimizes circulation and supports tissue recovery, making it a powerful tool for both pain relief and injury prevention.
